Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Sandbox app for iPhone and Apple Watch and our websites, sbx.golf and app.sbx.golf ("Sandbox"), run by Sandbox Pitch & Putt LLC ("we", "us").

What we collect

We collect it from you, from other players and partner golf courses (for example, scores logged in your round or reports about you), from your device when you use Sandbox, and from Apple or Google if you sign in with them.

• Account: your name, email address, password, @handle, and when you accepted our Terms. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and email address they share (with Apple's Hide My Email, a relay address) and, from Google, a link to your profile picture. We use what they share only to create and run your account.
• Profile: your date of birth (we ask for the month and year), handicap and how often you play, and, if you choose, your gender, a photo, a bio and a home course.
• Play: your tee-time requests, bookings, check-ins, groups, matches, scores, shot details you log, results, ratings and points, who you follow, who follows you, and who invited you. When you check in for a booked round, we record the round and its price for the course's records.
• Messages: the group chat and direct messages you send, and which messages and notifications you've read.
• Safety and support: reports you make, reports about you, players you block, and messages you send us. If you report a chat, we keep that day's messages from it with the report.
• Location, only if you allow it: your approximate location, rounded on your device to about 1 km before it's sent. We use it only to show courses near you, and we don't store it.
• Device and technical: your push notification and Live Activity tokens, notification settings, failed sign-in attempts, and your IP address and device or browser type.
• Waitlist and course enquiries on sbx.golf: your name, email address, the @handle you reserve and the courses you suggest; for a course enquiry, also your phone number, role and course details. We use them only to tell you about Sandbox and to talk with your course, until you ask us to remove them.

We don't collect payment card numbers, your phone's contacts (address book), health data, background location or advertising identifiers.

How we use it

We use your information to run Sandbox: to create your account, arrange and score games, match you with other players, calculate ratings, show profiles and leaderboards, and send the notifications you choose. We also use it to keep Sandbox safe (checking your age, screening text, reviewing reports, preventing abuse and password guessing, and enforcing our Terms of Use), to answer you, and to understand and improve Sandbox. We don't use it for advertising.

Who sees or receives it

• Other players see your profile (name, @handle, photo, bio, home course, join date, who you follow and who follows you), your handicap and how often you play, your match history and results, your rating and your place on the leaderboard. Players in your round also see your messages in its chat and the scores and shot details logged in it. Players may share result cards showing names, photos and scores, and anyone with the link to your profile photo can open it.
• Your Privacy Settings, and each request's Public? switch (on by default), decide who sees your upcoming rounds and live play and whether friends can join you.
• Partner golf courses see, for rounds at their course, your name, @handle, photo and rating, your requests, group, tee time and changes to it, and the scores, shot details and results, including during play.
• Service providers host our app and data, send and receive email, send push notifications, provide maps, and deliver parts of the app to your device. Notification text, which can include part of a message, passes through the push notification service.
• Apple or Google, if you sign in with them. Their own privacy policies apply to them.

Our service providers must protect your information at least as well as this policy does and use it only to run Sandbox. We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect someone's safety, and it may pass to a new owner if Sandbox is sold or merged, still under this policy. We don't sell your information or share it for advertising. Apart from the service providers above and Apple or Google when you sign in with them, which receive your IP address to do their job, no third party may collect information about your activity on Sandbox over time or across other websites or apps.

How long we keep it

• Group chats: deleted from our servers when the round starts, and within 9 days at most. A reported chat's kept messages stay until we've reviewed the report.
• Reports, failed sign-in records and emails you send us: as long as we need them to keep Sandbox and accounts safe, help you and keep records.
• Logs and backups: for a limited time, then deleted or overwritten.
• Everything else, including your account, profile, play, messages, settings and device tokens: while your account is open, then as described below.

Deleting your account

Delete your account in the app (You → Settings → Delete account), or email support@sbx.golf. We delete your personal information, including your name, @handle, photo, bio, home course, date of birth, gender, follows, tokens, notifications, points and the messages you sent. Your past matches, results, ratings, handicap and play frequency, and your rounds at partner courses stay, under the name "Deleted player", so other players' and courses' records stay correct. Reports, and the messages kept with them, may stay for safety. Messages other players sent you, and notifications in their accounts, aren't changed. You can't delete your account while you have a game in progress or about to start, or a result waiting for your confirmation. If you signed in with Apple and delete your account in the iPhone app, we ask Apple to end Sandbox's access to your Apple ID; you can also remove it yourself in your Apple ID settings. Deletion is permanent.

Your choices and rights

You can edit your profile and Privacy Settings in the app, turn off location or notifications in your device settings, and block or report a player. To get a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, email support@sbx.golf. We honor these requests wherever you live.

Do Not Track. We don't track you across other websites or apps, so we treat every visit the same way whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.

Children

Sandbox isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. Sign-up asks for your birth month and year to keep them out. If we learn that a child under 13 has an account, we delete it. If you believe one does, email support@sbx.golf.

Changes

We'll post any update here with a new date, and notify you before a significant change takes effect.
